Nairobi, May 7, 2024: – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Xamsa Cabdi Barre, met with the Somali business community residing in Kenya, discussing their role in the reconstruction and development of the country. The Prime Minister briefed the businessmen on the current political situation, available opportunities, challenges in nation-building, and the efforts of the DanQaran Government towards strengthening the Somali state governance system.
He also urged the business community to play a significant role in bolstering domestic investment and implementing employment creation programs for Somali youth, acknowledging their efforts in reinforcing statehood and supporting the Somali people facing adversities. The Prime Minister stated, “I urge the businessmen to invest within the country, which can create significant employment opportunities. This investment also serves as an opportunity to leverage our membership in the East African Community (EAC) market, which represents a new and vast economic development frontier.”
On their part, the businessmen shared insights with the Prime Minister on nation-building and the country’s development, praising the significant achievements of the Government over the past two years.
